Metaphysical Series

As a life long student of metaphysics, Lawrence connects to a higher self. During this meditative connection, he receives shapes, forms, colors, messages, patterns, and a deeper connection with the universe. Movement of energy and expansion of spirit are depicted in the brush strokes and hard and soft movement of each composition.

Each piece starts after a meditation and connection to his higher self. The compositions are never done in one sitting. He will place the working piece in front of his vision for days and sometimes weeks and contemplates the composition deeply. This is followed by obtaining a meditative state and emptying his mind for messages and visions.

After a calm awakening from his meditation, he would continue to create and add to the composition or compositions. He is often driven to start another painting with the shapes, colors and patterns that came to him instead of returning to the current selection that he is painting.

One of the most amazing experiences observed during gallery exhibits is when collectors come to his shows and are immediately connected to a certain piece that draws them in. It is very exciting to the artist as he knows that the chosen piece has some universal connection to them that they both understand at a higher metaphysical level.
