ARTIST STATEMENT:
Lawrence R. O’Leary Jr. Fine Art
Lawrence O’Leary Jr. is an artist based out of Rhode Island and travels extensively in his boat art studio, painting and teaching both nationally and internationally. As an award winning published artist his works can be seen in galleries, museums and celebrity collectors homes world wide.
Lawrence received his first series of commissions at the age of ten by an English collector and received a scholarship to Lassalle Extension University in the 1960’s. Continuing his studies as an art major at three colleges and graduating painting from Rhode Island School of Design in Rhode Island. He has studied extensively with contemporary masters since the late 1960s. Lawrence graduated a Twelve month masters program with Art master Dan Edmondson school of art and attended Rhode Island College studying studio painting as well as a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
Collectors are still searching for works painted in the 1960s and 1970s offering handsome fees.
He is an eclectic artist and teacher of many mediums and styles but favors oils. His styles are representational, Surreal, Abstract, Figurative and Still life.
Art has been his life in many aspects since childhood, from professional commissions of fine art. He is also an American War Veteran, an active boat captain of his own vessel as well as a traveling musician and actor.
